On June 22, Tencent’s Lightspeed & Quantum Studio announced that it had signed a collaboration deal with Chinese pro golfer Xiang Sui. According to the announcement, the collaboration was expected to bring golf to the esports space. At the end of May, the China Ladies Professional Golfers' Association decided to fully resume the tournament online with the support of a golf simulator. Xiang Sui participated and live-streamed the tournament, which bridged the connection with Lightspeed Studio.

Xiang Sui highly recognized the capability of esports to popularize traditional sports. She believes that bringing golf online can lower the threshold for public participation. In addition, the sports simulation can help drive more people to participate and experience golf and other sports without attending physically.

In June 2019, Tencent announced that the overseas version of Peacekeeper Elite - PUBG MOBILE surpassed 400 million downloads and reached 50 million daily active users.

The game also has a significant esports presence in Southeast Asia. In November 2019, Tencent and Chinese tournament organizer VSPN hosted the PUBG MOBILE Club Open Grand Final in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
